Donations to be Collected to Benefit Migrant Newcomer Families
MANSFIELD — Superintendent Teresa Murphy and Athletic Director Tim Selmon encourage community members to attend Mansfield High School’s first football game of the season.

Thursday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m.
WHERE:
Alumni Field, 250 East St., Mansfield
WHAT:
On Thursday night, Mansfield High School will play Duxbury High School during the home opener football game. Community members and fans are encouraged to come support the players.
“We are thrilled to welcome back the Mansfield community to our home field for the first football game of the season,” said Athletic Director Selmon. “We are looking forward to a great year ahead.”
In addition to Thursday night’s game, Mansfield High School, Duxbury High School Football and MHS Student Services Club will host a supply drive to support migrant newcomer families in the Town of Mansfield.
Fans from both teams are welcome to support the newcomer families by donating the following items identified by the Mansfield Migrant Task Force:
Food
Individual-sized snacks (i.e., Goldfish, animal crackers, etc.), Boxes of cereal, Granola bars, Oatmeal, Shelf-stable juice (i.e., apple juice)
Personal Care Items
Diapers, sizes 4, 5, 6, Diaper wipes, Bath soap, Liquid hand soap, Hand sanitizer, Baby soap, Shampoo/conditioner, Deodorant, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Razors, Shaving cream, Lotion, Lip balm, Hairbrushes, Laundry detergent
Collection bins will be available at the ticket gates during the game.
“We are very excited for the first football game of the season and are expecting a large turnout,” said Superintendent Murphy. “We appreciate those who kindly welcome our migrant newcomer families and participate in the supply drive donations.”
